- Client, You, Your: Refers to the website user accepting the terms and conditions.
- The Company, Ourselves, We, Us: Refers to scrudu.ie and scrudu.ie, trading under Scrúdú (and formerly Rewise).
- Party, Parties, or Us: Refers to both the Client and ourselves, or either the Client or ourselves.

This policy outlines the terms of use for www.scrudu.ie. Our acceptable use policy applies to all users of, and visitors to, this site. Your use of this site means that you agree to accept all the policies contained both in our acceptable use policy and our terms of use.

Content Standards
These standards apply to all material contributed by users of Scrúdú, including comments, reports, and other submissions. We may examine your content using anti-plagiarism software to ensure the originality and rightful ownership of contributions.
You must comply with the following standards, which apply to each part of a contribution as well as the contribution as a whole.
Contributions must:
- Be Accurate: Statements of fact within contributions must be accurate.
- Be Genuine: Statements of opinion must be genuinely held by the contributor.
- Comply with Laws: Contributions must comply with applicable laws in Ireland and any country from which they are posted.
Contributions must not:
- Contain Sexually Explicit Material
- Promote Violence
- Promote Discrimination: Contributions must not be discriminatory based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age.
- Be Defamatory, Obscene, or Inflammatory
- Infringe Intellectual Property: Contributions must not infringe on any copyright, database right, related right, or trademark of any other person.
- Be Deceptive
- Harass, Upset, Embarrass, Alarm, or Annoy: Contributions must not be intended to negatively target any other person.
- Impersonate or Misrepresent: Contributions must not impersonate anyone or misrepresent your identity or affiliations.
- Breach Legal Duty: Contributions must not violate any legal obligations owed to others (e.g., contractual or confidentiality agreements).
- Promote Illegal Activity: Contributions must not promote or assist unlawful acts (e.g., copyright infringement or computer misuse).
Suspension and Termination
We will investigate any suspected breaches of this Acceptable Use Policy during your use of Scrúdú. If a breach is identified, we reserve the right to take actions we deem appropriate.
In cases of significant breach of our Terms of Use, we may take any or all of the following actions:
- Temporarily or permanently withdraw your right to use Scrúdú.
- Temporarily or permanently remove any contribution or material uploaded by you.
- Issue a warning to you.
- Commence legal proceedings against you, potentially including seeking reimbursement for costs resulting from the breach.
- Take further legal action deemed necessary.
- Disclose relevant information to law enforcement authorities if we reasonably believe it is required.
We are not liable for actions taken in response to breaches of this Acceptable Use Policy. The listed responses are not exhaustive, and we may take other actions we consider appropriate.
Your Scrúdú Account
By registering on Scrúdú, you agree to provide accurate, non-fraudulent information. You may not impersonate others or share your Scrúdú account. We reserve the right to terminate accounts at any time.
Links to Scrúdú
You may link to any page within Scrúdú. If you do so, please include a clear reference to the name 'Scrúdú'. Linking to our site is done at your own risk, and the exclusions and limitations outlined in these Terms and Conditions apply.
Content Persistence and Removal
While we generally do not remove uploaded material, there are circumstances where content may be taken down. These include:
- Copyright Infringement: If we receive valid copyright infringement claims, we will remove the infringing material.
- Inappropriate Content: Material that violates our Content Standards may be removed at our discretion.
- User Request: We respond to all requests to add and remove content on the site in a timely manner.
Even if content is removed, it's possible that copies may persist in backups or search engine caches outside of our direct control.
Examination Material
We strive to ensure that examination material on Scrúdú is accurate and complete. For the most up-to-date information, please refer to the official materials available from the State Examinations Commission website. Older examination material may remain on Scrúdú as a reference, even if the syllabus has changed. We will clearly indicate if material relates to previous syllabi.
Copyright Notice
Copyright and other intellectual property rights apply to text relating to Scrúdú's services and portions of this website's content. We make efforts to secure permissions from copyright holders for any reproduced content. If you believe your copyright has been infringed, please contact us at info@scrudu.ie with the following details:

Refund Policy
If you are dissatisfied with the service provided by Scrúdú, you may be eligible for a refund at our discretion. To request a refund, please contact us at info@scrudu.ie, stating your name, email address associated with your account, and the reason for your request.
Please note:
- Refunds will not be granted for breaches of our Terms of Use.
- If you suspect fraudulent use of your credit/debit card on Scrúdú, please inform us immediately at info@scrudu.ie.
- No refunds will be issued if you receive a paid Scrúdú account via a school-issued license.
Scrúdú Paid Accounts
The following terms apply to Scrúdú Paid Accounts :
- A yearly upgrade (€44.99) grants access to all content in your selected subjects until June 31st of the purchase year (i.e., the end of the academic school year). This price is subject to reductions during promotional periods until the school year ends.
- A paid account allows only one user login at a time, and access is limited to selected subjects (maximum of 10).
Teacher & School Purchases
- Teacher upgrades are free and grant lifelong access to all Scrúdú content. We reserve the right to limit certain features to prevent abuse.
- School upgrades are based on an agreed-upon invoice. Access begins on an agreed upon date and codes are valid only for the quantity purchased. Schools are responsible for distributing codes to their students. Sharing codes across schools is a breach of our Terms of Use.

Waiver
The failure of either party (Scrúdú or the user) to strictly enforce any provision of these Terms and Conditions does not constitute a waiver of that provision or diminish the obligations under these terms. A waiver is only effective if explicitly stated as such and signed by both parties.
General
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland. By using Scrúdú, you consent to these terms and the exclusive jurisdiction of Irish courts in related disputes.
- If any term is deemed invalid or unenforceable, it will be removed without affecting the validity of the remaining terms.
- Scrúdú reserves the right to enforce these Terms and Conditions. Failure to enforce any provision does not waive our right to do so later.
- Changes to these Terms and Conditions may be made at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on our website.
These Terms and Conditions are part of the agreement between you and Scrúdú. Using our website signifies your understanding and acceptance of these terms. Your statutory Consumer Rights remain unaffected.
